Privacy notice

This explains what personal information Lashes & Luxuries collects, why, how long it is kept and who it is shared with. We are the data controller for that information.

What we collect and why

WhatWhenWhy (lawful basis)Kept for
Name, email, phone, delivery address When you place an order To take payment, pack and deliver your order and contact you about it — performance of a contract. Records are then kept to meet tax obligations — legal obligation. 6 years after the order, for HMRC record-keeping
Your basket and contact details, before payment When you begin checkout So your order can be fulfilled correctly from our own records rather than from data sent by your browser — performance of a contract. Automatically deleted after 3 days if the payment is not completed
Your email address only If you ask to be told when a sold-out item returns To send you that one notification — consent, which you give by asking for the alert. Deleted as soon as the notification is sent, or after 90 days if the item does not return
Your email address, the date and time you joined, the page you joined from, and the exact wording you agreed to If you join our mailing list To send you occasional emails about new products, restocks and offers — consent, which you give by ticking the box yourself. It is never ticked for you. Until you unsubscribe. See “Marketing emails” below for what happens then
Your email address (from your order) and whether you ticked “No thanks” to the restock reminder When you place an order To send you one reminder about four weeks after your order, in case you're running low — legitimate interests, under the “soft opt-in” rule for existing customers. You can say no at checkout, or unsubscribe from the email itself. Your choice is kept for as long as your order record (6 years). If you unsubscribe, we keep only a scrambled one-way version of your address so we don't email you again
Your email address and first name (from your order) About a week after your order To ask you, once, for an honest review of your order on Google — legitimate interests in hearing how we did and helping other customers decide. We ask everyone the same way, whatever their order, and never offer anything in return for a review. We keep a note that we asked, so we never ask twice. The email has a link to stop any more emails like it; order confirmations still come
The IP address you signed up from If you join our mailing list To evidence that the signup was genuine if it is ever questioned — legitimate interests in being able to prove consent. 12 months, then erased while the rest of the consent record is kept
Daily visit counts — pages viewed and which site referred you Every time a page is opened To know whether people are finding the shop — legitimate interests in understanding how the site is used. No cookie is set and no IP address is stored. See “Counting visitors” below. Totals only, kept indefinitely. Nothing that could identify you is created in the first place
IP address, browser type, page address, error details If something goes wrong during checkout, and to limit abuse of our forms To diagnose faults and protect the site from misuse — legitimate interests in keeping the shop working and secure. 90 days

We never see or store your card details. Card and wallet payments are handled entirely by Stripe. Your card number is sent from your browser to Stripe and never reaches our website or our server.

Marketing emails

If you ask us to, we will send you occasional emails about new lash products, restocks and offers. Joining the list is always a separate, deliberate choice — we will never add you to the list simply because you bought something, and the box is never ticked for you.

Restock reminder. When you order, we'll send you one email about four weeks later in case you're running low, unless you tick “No thanks” at checkout. This is not the mailing list: you won't get other marketing from us unless you join it. The reminder has its own unsubscribe link, and using it stops reminders for good.

You join as soon as you tick the box, and we send you a short welcome email so you know it worked. If an address has been added by mistake, or by somebody else, the unsubscribe link in that first email removes it immediately and nothing further is sent.

Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link, and your email app's own unsubscribe button works too. You can also email us and we will remove you by hand. When you unsubscribe we stop immediately, delete your address within 12 months and keep only a scrambled one-way version of it, so that you cannot be added back by mistake. If you sign up again later, you're back on the list straight away.

Review request. About a week after your order we email once to ask for an honest Google review. It contains no offers and we only ever ask once. The link at the bottom of that email stops reminders and any other non-order emails from us; order confirmations still come, because they're part of buying something.

Order confirmations, delivery updates and replies to your questions are not marketing — those are part of buying something and continue regardless.

Counting visitors

We count how many people visit the site and which pages they look at, so we know whether people are finding us.

This does not use cookies and does not track you. Nothing is stored on your device, nothing follows you to other websites, and we do not use Google Analytics or any advertising tracker.

We do not store your IP address. So that you are counted once a day rather than once per page, our server combines your IP address and browser details with a random value that changes every night, turns the result into a code that cannot be reversed, and stores only that code. The previous night's random value is destroyed, which means yesterday's codes cannot be linked to today's, to each other, or to you.

What we keep is daily totals: how many visits, which pages, and which website sent you to us — for example Instagram. None of it identifies a person.

Who we share it with

Only with the services needed to complete your order or to send an email you asked for. Each acts on our instructions:

The mailing list itself is held on our own website's server, not in a third-party marketing platform. If that ever changes we will update this notice first.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Cookies and browser storage

This site uses no advertising trackers, and our visitor counting sets no cookie at all — see “Counting visitors” above. Your browser stores your basket so it survives a refresh, and remembers whether you have seen a promotional message. That information stays on your device and is never sent to us. Stripe sets its own cookies when processing a payment, to detect fraud.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or provide it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent — the back-in-stock alert and the mailing list — you can withdraw it at any time, and for the mailing list the unsubscribe link in any email does exactly that. You can object to the restock reminder at any time, and we will stop: tick “No thanks” at checkout, use its unsubscribe link, or email us. Some information we must keep for the full retention period above, because tax law requires it.

Email enquiries@lashesandluxuries.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged on your order.

Prices and payment

Prices are in pounds sterling and shown on each product. Postage is added at checkout and shown before you pay. The price we charge is always the price held on our server — if a price shown in your browser has been altered, the correct catalogue price applies and the order will not go through at the altered amount.

We accept card payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay through Stripe. Placing an order obliges you to pay for it. Your order is accepted when we send your confirmation email.

Availability

Occasionally two customers buy the last of an item at the same moment. If that happens and we cannot fulfil your order, we will contact you and refund that item in full. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights.

Products

Our lash products are professional supplies intended for trained technicians. Colours and lengths may vary slightly from photographs. Always patch test and follow safe application practice.

Faulty or misdescribed goods

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If they are not, you have 30 days from receipt to reject them for a full refund, and we pay return postage. This is in addition to your right to cancel below.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

Returns & cancellation

Last updated September 2026

Your right to cancel

Because you are buying online, you have 14 days from the day you receive your order to change your mind, without giving a reason. Tell us by emailing enquiries@lashesandluxuries.co.uk with your order reference. You then have a further 14 days to send the items back.

Refunds

We refund within 14 days of receiving the goods back, or of you proving you have sent them, whichever is sooner. Refunds go to the original payment method, and include the standard postage you paid to receive the order.

You pay the cost of returning items unless they are faulty or not as described. We may reduce your refund if items have been handled more than was necessary to check them.

Items that cannot be returned once opened

For health and hygiene reasons, sealed products cannot be returned once the seal has been broken. This applies to lash trays, tapes and any other sealed item. Your right to cancel still applies fully while the seal is intact, and always applies to faulty goods.
